Rescue Me ID: 17-08-17-00176Lady Bug (female)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Lady Bug! Lady is Boston Terrier/Boxer mix and roughly 7 years old. Lady was pulled from Indianapolis Animal Care Services. Lady was a rescue only due to her age and the condition of her left eye and she was shutting down in the shelter environment. Lady was estimated by IACS to be 9 years old, but our vet believes she is more around 7 years. It is very clear that Lady was used as a breeding machine most of her life. And although she was an owner surrender due to a move, we feel it was because they had no more use for her. Lady's teeth were in horrible condition, our vet calling it 'cage biting' from either chewing on a crate or ... (Read More)metal fence. She has signs of being chained up and was either kept outdoors in the elements or in a damp basement. Her left eye has a scarred cornea and will likely go blind in that eye at some point. She does need eye drops and ointment daily for her eye, but she does well with getting it each day. Despite all she has been through, Lady is seriously a sweetheart and has so much love to give. She can be unsure of new people, but is quickly won over with a treat. Lady loves to run in the yard and strategize how she will catch a squirrel. She loves to sunbathe and LOVES playing with her Kong Wubba. She has the cutest little ears that flop while she runs through the yard. All Lady wants is a soft bed to lay on and be with you. She on occasion likes her space and does find her crate as a safe zone when she needs alone time or time to decompress. Lady is house and crate trained. She does well with dogs and children (foster home has a rambunctious 2.5 year old). She did well with the cats while at the sanctuary, but was pretty interested in the cats at her foster home. If you have a scaredy cat, she may chase it. If you have cat that will stand up for itself, then you should be fine. Lady does well on a leash and loves to go for walks. Lady has a beautiful personality and deserves a forever home where she knows she is loved and safe. Interested in Lady? Rescue Me ID: 17-08-14-00137Tito (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tito. Tito is a pug, boxer, shepherd mix believed to be around 2 to 3 years old. Tito was at the Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) in need of rescue and we couldn't resist. We were told that Tito had previously been with a family who 'didn't have time for him', we were also told that the father was not so nice to Tito. Because of that we see him holding back with us at the sanctuary. We can see he wants to love us, but is holding back probably in fear of getting hurt. We have seen zero aggression from Tito and have even tried pushing him to his limits, he just backs away. Despite his not so great beginning, Tito is a very mellow ... (Read More)fellow and easy going. He has an old soul feeling to him, but still gets playful but not hyper. He does great with smaller dogs and would love a smaller dog sibling to play with. He is terrified of larger dogs, so slow introductions is a must. He lived in a home with 4 children. He seems fine with cats so far, no red flags in that area. He is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. We would love Tito to find a forever home with older children wanting to play and interact with him. A calm, small doggy brother or sister to play with. His forever family needs to be willing to work with Tito to build a strong, trusting bond. We can see this boy has so much love to give, he just needs to know you are not going to hurt or betray him. Tito needs someone willing to give him the time he needs to build trust, but we are certain once you have it you won't be disappointed. Could you give Tito the life he deserves and show him unconditional love? Interested in Tito?     **Tilly is with a sister rescue, ABRA, Inc.** Tilly is a 27# doxy mix. She is the most loving, happy little girl! She loves everyone she meets, she's good with other dogs and kids. She is 4 years old, housebroken and very smart. Tilly can have separation anxiety. It was very severe when we first got her, but thanks to lots of positive training from her foster mom, she's doing much better! She's been very good in a crate for a few hours at a time. She'd still prefer to be in a home where someone is home a lot (she's not a good fit for a person who is gone 10 hours a day with nobody else at home). She would also do much better in a home with ... (Read More)a dog companion. Aside from her separation anxiety, which is greatly improved, she's a perfect little girl. We just adore her!!!     We cannot understand why Mabaline (Mabel) is still with us at AHS. Mabel is a sweet, older girl who deserves to be a spoiled princess. Mabaline had a gloomy start to her life. She was picked up by Muncie Animal Control from an owner who had Mabel at the end of a chain for her entire life. She would bark endlessly for attention and affection until she went hoarse. Then when her voice came back she started all over. Our Director met Mabel at the Muncie Animal Control center and fell in love. She knew Mabel deserved a second chance and deserved to spend the rest of her life being spoiled. Mabel has now been with us over a year, still looking ... (Read More)for her forever home. Mabel has had to learn to be a dog and it took some time. However, she now knows the joys of belly rubs and a soft, warm bed. She loves to just hang out and snuggle. She also enjoys going for long walks or simply playing in the yard. She does well with dogs and has recently been tested with cats, which she tends to ignore. Does well with children. She is estimated to be 5 - 8 years old. Mabel needs to have a routine and get daily exercise (through play or walks). We would love to see her in a home with a family where preferably she is not left alone too much (simply because she loves being with people). She would love to go for family walks and just hang out. Mabel completed basic training with Special OPs K9 Academy located in North Webster, IN. She is house and crate trained, spayed and current on all vaccines. Please! Please! Please! Consider giving Mabaline the forever home she deserves. This girl has so much love to give. She deserves to know what a lasting, forever home feels like. Interested In Mabaline?
